Cleaning Your Horsebox
Cleaning your horsebox takes the same concept as cleaning your home. Especially when your horsebox is with living spaces, it is necessary to maintain cleanliness in order to make it conducive to the health of the ones staying there as well as of your horses.
Before anything else, remove any odours accumulating inside the horsebox by opening all windows, vents and doors for ventilation. Also, keep them open while you are cleaning inside.
Use a firm broom on the horsebox floor to sweep away any loose particles. For stains and debris that are tough to remove, especially those in the edges and crevices, you may have to use a wire brush. Rinse the horsebox interiors completely with a strong steam of water through a hose and apply the appropriate cleaner on the floors and walls of the horsebox. There are cleaning products on sale that are meant for horseboxes and other horse dwellings. Alternatively, you can make your own cleaner by combining a pail of water and small amounts of detergent. Allow the cleaner to stay on the horsebox floor for a while.
Rinse the horsebox floor and the lower portions of walls thoroughly. You may have to use a push broom or a brush in order to ensure that dirt, stains and cleaning products are taken out of the horsebox.
Finally, allow the horsebox interiors to dry by letting all the windows and doors open. Afterwards, check your horsebox for any portions that you might have missed out while you were cleaning.
Aside from making your horsebox smelling and looking clean, regularly cleaning it will make it last long.
